Pinecone Bird Feeder Workshop for Kids

Join us on a nature program for children! Saturday, January 30, 2016 - 1:00 PM

With winter here, our feathered friends could use some extra food to help them survive the cold weather. Join Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon as we learn how to give them a boost! We will start by reading Animals in Winter, by Henrietta Bancroft, a story of how our wild neighbors prepare for the winter’s cold; then turn crafty and use pine cones, suet, dried fruits, and bird seed to make bird feeders. We’ll hang them for the birds, and then take a winter’s ramble in the woods!

For kids of all ages and easy enough for young children to enjoy. Note that most birdseed is processed in plants that also process peanuts if allergies are an issue. Please dress according to the weather. . For ages 3-10, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration is a must! To register please call 631-903-5556

Location: Cold Spring Harbor Library located at 95 Harbor Road (Route 25A), CSH, right next door to Cold Spring Harbor State Park. Meet in the third floor story room.
