Town Of Oyster Bay Reminds Homeowners To Update Tax Billing Information
Residents who pay off or refinance their mortgage must notify the Receiver of Taxes to ensure property tax bills are sent directly to them.

TOWN OF OYSTER BAY, NY — The Town of Oyster Bay is reminding homeowners to notify the town in writing to ensure tax bills are received promptly.
Oyster Bay Town Receiver of Taxes Jeffrey Pravato said residential property owners need to notify his office once they satisfy their mortgage.
"A homeowner relying on a bank, attorney, or Nassau County to notify the Tax Office may find there is a delay in billing the homeowner directly, which can lead to the imposition of a late payment penalty," he said.

When writing, Pravato said property owners should include a few key points:
- Name and address to whom tax bills should be directed.
- Legal property description
- School district
- Section
- Block
- Lot numbers
- For condos – the building and unit number
Residents who recently purchased a home, condominium, or co-op unit, or recently refinanced, should notify in writing by mail or email at receiveroftaxes@oysterbay-ny.gov. This should be sent to:

For residents who own properties in an incorporated village, they must notify their village assessor.
Property owners residing in incorporated villages must also notify their village assessor.
