Cops: Woman Struck, Killed on 25A

Driver escaped with minor injuries; accident still under investigation.

A woman has died after she was struck on Route 25A in Cold Spring Harbor Thursday night, cops said.

Suffolk County Police confirmed that an unidentified woman died of injuries after she was struck on Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor.

Police and emergency crews were called to the corner of Main Street and Spring Street just after 6 p.m. Thursday. Responders reported that a car driving east on Main Street in Cold Spring Harbor had struck a female pedestrian near the Spring Street intersection.

Witnesses said CPR was performed on the victim in the street after the accident.

Suffolk County Police confirmed at 10:15 p.m. that the victim had died.

As of 10:30 p.m., SCPD said the scene of the accident was still under investigation.

The driver escaped with minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A cause of the accident was not reported.
