Hi! I’m Michelle Hinebrook, a professor at Pratt Institute and founder of Artful Edge Academy in Brooklyn. With 26 years of teaching and professional art experience, I provide personalized art and design instruction and tutoring for students preparing for NYC arts high school admissions and BFA art and design colleges.

As a parent of middle school children myself, I understand how important the application process is for your child’s future, and how challenging it can be to know where to start.

PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT AND TUTORING

Services include private tutoring, group classes, and comprehensive portfolio tutoring covering all required elements of the NYCSP portfolio requirements, including observational drawing, self-portraiture, the Fantastical Sandwich drawing, figure drawing, still life, and 3–4 additional works demonstrating each student’s skills, concepts, and material experimentation.

Additionally, we offer professional portfolio documentation, photography, and interview preparation to help students meet the rigorous requirements of top-tier institutions.

FREE 30-MINUTE PORTFOLIO REVIEW WITH MICHELLE

Contact me to schedule your free portfolio review. I’ll answer your questions about the portfolio development process, review your child’s current work, and offer professional feedback on what they should work on before submitting their application.

There is no obligation. We enjoy talking with young artists and their parents, and want to help students succeed as they pursue their creative academic path.
