Design Your Own Graphic T-Shirt at Kids Design the World in Prospect Heights!
In this class, your children will learn the basics of graphic design principles and use them, along with simple shapes, to create a cool design that they will then put on their own t-shirt!What will be taught?
Design basics - Shape, Color, and Pattern.
Skills - Drawing, Critical thinking, Printmaking/Screenprinting, referencing Art History, discussion of popular designs and colors they see in their every day world, and how they relate to them.
Students will use templates of simple shapes to trace and create a Graphic Designs that will be put on a white t-shirt. They will see examples of Artists like Warhol, Kandinsky, and Lichtenstein and use them as inspiration to come up with their own exclusive design made up of circles, squares, and triangles that they will then transfer on to a t-shirt that they bring from home, by using a silk screen and ink, or a paper transfer process.
