• Eagle as Icon at the Audubon Center, July 2 to 4; 1-3pm. Learn about how the eagle's image became our national bird with this panel exhibit and nature craft project.

• Declare Independence at Lefferts Historic House. July 4; 1-4pm. Celebrate America's birthday and the Declaration of Independence. You'll make a plumed hat and sign a reproduction of the historic document.
• Freedom Strut at Lefferts Historic House. July 3; 1-4pm. July 4, 1827 was the day slavery was abolished in New York. Celebrate this historic event by hearing about the struggle, making an "Emancipation Day button" and learning how to strut, as was done in 1827.
