Summer Enrichment Classes: Middle School Students

*SESSION ONE:  June 18th-28th, M-Th/ 2 weeks

Middle School Program—“Reinforcing Reading & Writing Skills” (9:30am-12pm)

Students will strengthen analytical skills for close reading of both fiction and non-fiction texts, nicknamed “Fireworks,” and practice developing the “Essential Ingredients for a Successful Essay.”

**SESSION TWO:  July 16th-August 2nd, M-Th/ 3 weeks

Middle School Program—“Elements of Literary Analysis” (9:30am-12pm)

Students will read short stories centered on analyzing elements of fiction:  plot, setting, theme, characterization, & point-of-view; then short critiques will develop essential writing techniques to improve skills in Humanities classes.

Regular Registration: $450]

*SESSION THREE:  August 6th-16th, M-Th/ 2 weeks

Middle School Program—“Strategies for School Success” (9:30am-12pm)

Students will reinforce critical skills for ‘school success’ by reviewing effective techniques for note-taking, organization, test prep, peer/teacher relationships, and stress reduction.  The MMTIC will be offered as a tool for assessing the Myers-Briggs learning profile of each individual, and coaching will be offered for increasing academic confidence.
