How Should the U.S. Respond To the Islamic State in Iraq & Syria?

A Free Community Forum

• Does ISIS pose a direct threat to the US?
• Is it possible to stop the terror of ISIS without arming Syrian rebels or committing US troops to another war?
• Does bombing Syria or aiding Syrian rebels violate the law?
• How does US intervention impact the people of the region?
• Is there a political alternative to another war?

We will try to get answers to these & other questions with a panel of experts at a Community Forum at Lafayette Ave. Presbyterian Church, 85 S, Oxford, Fort Greene on Monday, November 10 at 7:00 pm.

The panelists at this event will include:

Raed Jarrar, a widely recognized as an expert on political, social, and economic developments in the Middle East + Policy Impact Coordinator for the American Friends Service Committee

Zachary Lockman, a Distinguished Professor of Middle Eastern Studies + History at NYU, Author of Contending Visions of the Middle East: The History and Politics of Orientalism (The Contemporary Middle East)

All are welcome! Admission is free. Light refreshments will be provided.
