N, Q, R Trains Won't Run Overnight to Brooklyn This Week

Prepare to be angry and stranded between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Here’s how the MTA plans to screw your nighttime commute between Manhattan and Queens/Brooklyn for the week of July 6 to July 10:

The N, Q and R trains will all stop running throughout Manhattan beginning at 10 p.m. each weeknight. They won’t pick back up until 5 a.m. the next morning.

The good news is the N will still be running inside Brooklyn and Queens, and the R will be re-routed via the D line in Manhattan. (For more grisly details and alternate routes, see the MTA website.)

This week’s overnight closures are thanks to the MTA maintenance, cleaning and repair program ironically nicknamed FASTRACK.

We the entitled commuter mob — along with MTA maintenance workers — will get some relief over the weekend, when NQR resumes regular service. But get ready for these same 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. outages all next week, from July 13 to July 17.
