Nitehawk's Short Film Festival Returns This Month To Brooklyn
The dine-in theater will bring back its short film festival, this time with events in Williamsburg and at its new location in Park Slope.

BROOKLYN, NY â The borough's beloved dine-in theater is back for another year of its short film festival, this time with events both in Williamsburg and its new Park Slope outpost.
The Nitehawk Shorts Festival is set to kick off next week, with an opening night scheduled at its Williamsburg flagship on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The festival brings together 65 short films from 71 filmmakers with the goal of introducing audience to a selection of "exceptional short-form films"
"The curation of NSF prioritizes conversations over categorical listings, providing audiences with an experience unlike most short film programs," organizers write. "NSF19 continues our mission to represent diverse backgrounds, voices and perspectives."

The slate of films includes 61 percent women directors in an effort to reach the theater's goal of increasing gender representation behind the camera.
The week-long festival will include showings of the films along with Q&A sessions with the filmmakers, movie trivia nights, classes about short films and an awards night to announce the winners of the festival.
