Pre-game the Pro Bowl with Chuck Norris

Time waits for no man, unless that man is Chuck Norris. This Sunday, Obsolete Cinema hunkers down with the man, the myth, the Norris himself for a two-fisted, double-barreled double feature at Freddy’s Bar -- on VHS!

First up is The Delta Force (1986), a dramatic retelling of the 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847. Norris and the great Lee Marvin lead an elite group of Special Forces to save the day from terrorist Robert Forster. Elite hostages include Joey Bishop, Shelley Winters, Kim Delaney, Hanna Schygulla, and George Kennedy as a priest. It’s a cast of thousands if you count all the bullets.

Then it’s Missing in Action (1984), which puts Norris back in the ‘Nam as a Rambo type dead set on retrieving American POWs. Propaganda? Perhaps. Pure obsolete entertainment? Well, M. Emmet Walsh is in it, so of course.

The patriotic mess happens at Freddy’s, where the movies are free, the trivia brings prizes, and happy hour gets you some great deals.
