Project Sunshine Honors Brooklyn Volunteers
Project Sunshine celebrates National Volunteer Month in April by recognizing its dedicated corps of Brooklyn volunteers.
Project Sunshine celebrates National Volunteer Month in April by recognizing its dedicated corps of volunteers who bring free recreational, educational and social programming to hospitalized children in New York City, across the United States and internationally. The nonprofit organization will host volunteer appreciation events at Project Sunshine locations in Brooklyn to show its gratitude to the individuals who bring sunshine into the lives of children facing medical challenges and their families.
Project Sunshine volunteers in Brooklyn serve children at the Brookdale University Hospital & Medical Center, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Coney Island Hospital, Lutheran Medical Center, Maimonides Medical Center, Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, and many other locations.
“National Volunteer Month is the perfect opportunity to honor our volunteers’ impact on the lives of children facing medical challenges and their families,” said Beatrice Kernan, Executive Director, Project Sunshine. “It is a time for Project Sunshine to say thank you to the thousands of compassionate individuals who are truly the heart of the organization and make our programs possible.”
