(Ages 10-12) Sketch Comedy is about taking something that makes you laugh and transforming it into a situation that makes those around you burst into tears of laughter, too. It’s about creating an environment where you are free to share your personal happiness with the world in an honest, open, creative, and relatable format. Most importantly, it is about having fun with your unique perspective on life situations and letting your imagination run wild. In this class, we will focus on heightening every day situations into comical sketches that everyone can relate to and building a community with laughter and joy. We will collaborate on writing, staging, directing, and performing our work. These young artists will learn how to make their ideas heard in a format that encourages process, whimsy, and a dose of absurdity. Sketch comedy class develops thinking out of the box and letting everyone in on your inner Tina Fey or Will Farrell. Your children will learn how to write and execute their mad genius and have a ton of fun along the way!
