The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a flood advisory for Brooklyn, Staten Island and the New Jersey coastal area near NYC.

At 3:35 p.m., doppler radar indicated showers over Staten Island and New Jersey, slowly moving northeast toward Brooklyn, according to the NWS.

The heaviest flooding during this time period is expected to hit Staten Island. However, “heavy rain is causing minor flooding” in New Jersey and Brooklyn as well, the advisory said.

“Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway,” the NWS warned. “The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.”
