2 Long Island Restaurants Make List of Top 100 Best Restaurants in America

Have you been to either one? What other restaurants on the island deserved to make the list?

OpenTable has released its 2016 list of the "100 Best Restaurants in America," and two Long Island restaurants made the cut.

The list was compiled using the combined opinions of more than 10 million restaurant reviews submitted by verified OpenTable diners for more than 24,000 restaurants across the country, according to OpenTable.

The two Long Island restaurants on the list are Chachama Grill in East Patchogue and The Trattoria in Saint James.

"A wonderful restaurant in a most unusual location," one OpenTable diner wrote of Chachama Grill, a New American joint located in a strip mall on Montauk Highway. "I highly recommend it. We have been coming since they first opened over 12 years ago. This is 'one of those places' where you can go for a quiet date night or a gathering with friends."

The Trattoria, located on North Country Road, also made OpenTable's recent list of the 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America.
