29th Annual Old-Timer's Softball Game Saturday

Shorefront Park's softball field to be dedicated in recognition of Sam Perry Jr. and his father.

The 29th Annual Old Timer's Softball game is being held at on Saturday in Patchogue Village, and will include a special dedicating and naming of the softball field.

Sam Perry Jr., Chairman of the Old-Timer's Committee, and his father Sam Perry, Sr. will be recognized for their work by having the softball field named "Perry Field" after them both. According to a release sent by Patchogue Village officials, Perry, Sr. was the first to manage youth baseball in Patchogue, coaching the Patchogue Maple Leafs. Perry Jr is presently the Supervisor of the Town of Brookhaven's Senior Softball League and has been since 1995.

The dedication will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the softball game at 2:30 p.m.
