65-Year-Old Man Dead After Medical Emergency Causes Car Crash: PD

He lost control of a 2010 Jeep that veered off the road into a wooded area in Bellport, Suffolk cops say.

BELLPORT, NY — A car crash claimed the life of a 65-year-old Shoreham man in Bellport on Saturday, Suffolk police said.

Kevin Nash lost control of a 2010 Jeep Patriot westbound on Martha Avenue due to "a medical emergency," just east of Bellport Avenue at about 3:33 p.m., police said, adding that the Jeep "veered off the road into a wooded area and overturned."

Nash was transported by South Country Ambulance to Long Island Community Hospital in Patchogue where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Jeep was impounded for a standard safety check, according to police.

Fifth Squad detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact 631-854-8552.
