BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — Suffolk's first responders were busy last week, according to the Suffolk County Police Department and other first responders’ logs.Here's a snapshot of some incidents and arrests:

Darren Scales, 40, was charged with first-degree robbery for using a gun to threaten a clerk and demand a watch, according to police.

He pleaded not guilty, and his bail was set at $250,000, $500,000 insured bond, or $2 million partially secured surety bond at his arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip, online court records show. He was released on his own recognizance.

MASTIC BEACH

A police spokeswoman described the 10 p.m. altercation as domestic in nature, and said no one is pressing charges.One person had minor injuries, and was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk in East Patchogue, she said. Further information was not available.Video on social media shows multiple police units at the scene.

PATCHOGUE

PORT JEFFERSON

Crews responded to multiple trees down and electrical hazards, including a tree through a house with structural damage, the department said. One crew set up two temporary shoring struts due to multiple ceiling joists being damaged, and at the recommendation of the Village Building Inspector, those struts will remain in place until repairs can be made, according to the department.
