YAPHANK, NY — The Suffolk County Sheriff's office will be hosting a Corrections Career Fair on Aug. 13 at the Yaphank Correctional Facility, as part of an ongoing effort to recruit new talent and sign up for the Oct. 24 Corrections Exam.
It will begin at 6 p.m.
The informational event will showcase the career paths available within the Sheriff's office through stations of different corrections units. Participants will be able to connect one-on-one with the men and women of the agency about careers and benefits.
Registration for the correction exam is open until Sept. 16. The contract signed last year increased the starting salary to $60,000, and raises top pay to $155,000 after eight years.
