PATCHOGUE, NY — A Patchogue man was nabbed for driving without a license, and warrants, after a motor vehicle crash seriously hurt a pedestrian early Sunday morning, Suffolk police said.
The 24-year-old man was driving a 2018 Honda Civic southbound on Route 112, near Silver Street, when the vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway at around 3 a.m., according to police.
The victim, a 43-year-old man from Patchogue, was taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in East Patchogue for treatment of serious injuries, police said.
Detectives from the 5th Squad in Patchogue charged the 24-year-old Patchogue man with aggravated unlicensed
operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and for multiple warrants, according to police.
He will be held overnight at the 6th Precinct in Selden and
is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 17.
