BELLPORT, NY — One person was hurt in a two-vehicle crash in Bellport on Monday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
A 55-year-old man was driving a 2026 Volvo sport utility vehicle southbound on South Country Road, near Station Road, when he tried to make a U-turn from the shoulder of the roadway to the northbound lane at around 3 p.m., according to police.
The SUV was then struck on the front driver's side by a northbound 2011 Land Rover, police said.
The driver of the Land Rover was taken to NYU Langone Hospital-East Patchogue for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The driver of the Volvo was not hurt, police said.
No citations were issued.
