EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — An East Patchogue man has been arrested in connection with possessing more than 50 AI-generated child sex abuse images, Suffolk police said.
After a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and an investigation by Digital Forensics Unit detectives, a search warrant was conducted last Thursday at a home on Knot Street, and multiple electronic devices were seized, according to police.
The devices contained more than 50 images of child sex abuse
artificially edited after being taken from social media platforms, police said.
Detectives arrested Nicholas Zavesky, a 43-year-old who lived at the home, on Aug. 20 and charged him with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child.
Zavesky was set to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip on Thursday.
