• Brookhaven town board approves $650M hospital expansion, modernization project in Patchogue (news12.com) — A $650 million expansion of NYU Langone Hospital–Suffolk on Hospital Road in Patchogue has been unanimously approved by the Brookhaven Town Board, paving the way for a new seven-story, 144-bed pavilion and major renovations. Residents and labor groups largely support the project for its healthcare benefits and construction jobs, though some neighbors worry about added traffic. Construction is expected to take just over three years.
   

• Popular tex-mex restaurant closing Patchogue location (news12.com) — Del Fuego Tex Mex Kitchen and Tequila is closing its longtime Main Street Patchogue location after 11 years of tacos, margaritas, and celebrations, the owners announced on social media. The St. James and East Northport Del Fuego spots will remain open, and a related Babylon restaurant has already been rebranded as Tejanos Tex Mex Cantina. No reason was given for the Patchogue shutdown.
