• Seven Arrested At Patchogue DWI Checkpoint (southshorepress.com) — A holiday weekend DWI checkpoint at Waverly Plaza in Patchogue led to seven impaired-driving arrests as 465 vehicles passed through overnight. Suffolk County police, sheriff's deputies, state troopers, and MADD volunteers teamed up to target drunk and drugged driving, with all defendants scheduled for arraignment in Central Islip and presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
   

• Hochul Announces Community Partners for Statewide Mural Program (ithaca.com) — Patchogue residents can look forward to new public murals, as Patchogue Center for the Arts was chosen as Long Island's community partner in a statewide arts initiative. Governor Hochul's CHARM program will fund 40 murals across New York, turning libraries, schools, parks, and local businesses into more colorful, publicly accessible art spaces.
