• Arts festival to welcome over 1,500 attendees (trihamletnews.com) — Patchogue residents can look forward to the free Arts on Terry festival this Sunday, Sept. 13, filling Terry Street in the village's official arts district with hundreds of artists, live painting, music, and family activities. Organized by the Patchogue Arts Council and local partners, the event showcases Patchogue's creative community and offers interactive art experiences for kids and adults alike.
• Local Crime Roundup (trihamletnews.com) — Patchogue figured in two recent Suffolk County police cases, with a stabbing victim taken to NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in the village and seven motorists arrested at an overnight sobriety checkpoint at Waverly Plaza. The checkpoint, part of a holiday weekend crackdown, screened 465 vehicles and led to multiple DWI and drug-related driving charges.
• Suffolk Transit considering proposals to swap several fixed-route buses with on-demand service (news12.com) — Patchogue bus riders could see their main transfer point moved from Division Street to Sephton Street/Unity Place under Suffolk County Transit's new proposals. The county is weighing several on-demand bus zones and other route changes, with public hearings today in Hauppauge and possible implementation later this fall.
