BROOKHAVEN TOWN, NY — At least two people, including a bicyclist, were hurt in separate crashes within around 20 minutes of each other on the South Shore of Brookhaven Town on Thursday afternoon, Suffolk police said.
In the first incident, there was a two-vehicle crash on Sills Road, at the intersection of westbound Sunrise Road, in East Patchogue at around 12:25 p.m., according to police.
One person was taken to NYU Langone Hospital - Suffolk, on nearby Hospital Road, with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
In the second crash, a bicyclist was struck by a vehicle on William Floyd Parkway, and the intersection of Mastic Boulevard, in Shirley at around 12:45 p.m., and the bicyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
