PATCHOGUE, NY — A portion of westbound Sunrise Highway will be closed on Wednesday between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. to facilitate the removal of an overhead sign structure, the state Department of Transportation said.
It will be closed between Exit 53 at Route 112, or Medford Avenue, and Exit 52, which is at County Road 19 or Waverly Avenue, and motorists will be detoured onto the North Service Road for around one mile to return to Sunrise Highway.
Construction activities are weather-dependent and subject to change based on conditions, and in the case of inclement weather, the operation will be postponed to Thursday.
