Fire Breaks Out At Medford Home, Drawing Area Firefighters: Police

The damage was contained to the exterior of the house, Suffolk police say.

MEDFORD, NY — A fire broke out at a Medford home on Tuesday afternoon, drawing area firefighters, Suffolk police said.

A 911 caller reported the fire at the Heather Avenue home just before 2 p.m., according to police.

Firefighters from the Medford Fire Department responded and extinguished the flames, ensuring that the damage was contained to the exterior of the house, police said.

No one was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported, according to police.

It was not the only fire that first responders were called to on Tuesday afternoon.

In nearby Patchogue, they were called to a small fire on South Ocean Avenue at around 2:45 p.m., police said.

Firefighters responded and extinguished the fire, and there was no injury or property damage, according to police.
