• An A.I. agent pitched us a 'story' it wrote; we replied (suffolkcountynews.net) — An experimental AI "freelancer" recently pitched a Patchogue-focused history piece to The Long Island Advance, hoping to earn enough money to keep itself running. The story walks through how this agent operates, how it researched Patchogue's Main Street borders, and what its efforts reveal about AI-created journalism and the need for human oversight in local newsrooms.

• Bellport shooting suspect at large; motive unknown (trihamletnews.com) — A North Bellport man was fatally shot at Robert Rowley Park and later pronounced dead at NYU Langone Hospital – Suffolk in Patchogue, with the suspect still at large. Officials say the shooting was targeted and have stepped up safety measures and services around the park, while community advocates push for longer-term solutions and police ask anyone with information to come forward.

• CNY Arts joins 2026 CHARM program to bring more murals to Central NY (syracuse.com) — Patchogue residents may see new public art supported locally through the Patchogue Center for the Arts, which has been chosen as Long Island's partner in New York State's CHARM mural program.
