Angels of Long Island

Come down to Angels of Long Island Thrift and Community Outreach. 350 East Main Street Patchogue. 631-803-6775

Hi my name is Grammie Lynn I belong to a nonprofit 501c3 organization called the Angels of Long Island.

It was founded by a mother and daughter dynamic duo, Debbie Loesch and Brittany Loesch out of their modest 3 bedroom rented home at 54 Association Road in Bellport NY It was about 2 years ago when Debbie and Brittany reach out to family and friends on fb to help two families who where in need with a small child who was left behind from the family, and a women who had cancer with her 2 daughters and where left to be homeless. They collected many essential items for the families and filled their needs completely. After feeling the Love and Compassion from many folks in their local area, they found themselves wanting to start an outreach for folks who find themselves going through a very difficult time for numerous reasons, including failing health, loss of loved ones, temporary loss of income, and other unforeseen tragic problems. They started a facebook page and group called "Angels of Long Island" and requested specific donations from their facebook network of family and friends. This group, quickly rose to the occasion by providing donations and making an immediate lasting impact in a very difficult time. Debbie and Brittany were so inspired by the outpouring of support from the community., they quickly realized they could use this model to help many others in a short time. The group grew from 200 to over 60,000 members.

I personally have seen their 3 bedroom modest home filled with donations as well as the back yard with tents, sheds and trailers filled with donations.

Debbie and Brittany knew it was time to step out in faith and They reach out once again to their Angel members and started a go fund me page which they collected enough money to rent a building and start an outreach program that could help not only their local community but help surrounding areas reaching from Nassau And Suffolk County. The store is called Angels of Long Island Thrift Store and Community Outreach. Located at 350 East Main Street in Patchogue NY 11772.

Many folks dont understand the behind the scenes of what these 2 wonderful women do, they just dont run a thrift store, hundreds of folks reach out to them 24 hours a day. They have been called in the middle of night when someones heat broke, and they rallied up their Angels and where able to find electric heaters at 10pm on a snowy winter night and had them delivered to that persons home. That is just a tip of what these women do for their community. They have help parents who couldnt throw a birthday party for their 5 year old because the family was down on their luck and they werent able to afford party hats and favors, and even a gift. They have helped folks who house has burnt down to the ground and was left with nothing but the shirts on their back. A mother lost her son, and Debbie reached out to her Angels and was able to supply trays of food for the grieving mother and family so they could celebrate his calling to home. They give each and everyday, not only material stuff but themselves. They give themselves by listening, hugging, kissing, crying, laughing, talking, caring, having compassion, and just being there for that one person who needs to feel Loved. Thats what they do.

They need a miracle, the store is up and running, things are well, but they could be better, they do not pay employees or themselves. We all help out on a volunteer basis, their landlord Blessed them with 3 months free rent, this coming January will be the first months rent due. Debbie has it to cover, but February and March may be a problem, its a slow time of the year for shopping. The store could use some tender loving, and repairs. We know we can succeed in this mission, we just need some recognition. Debbie has been featured in a few local news papers as well as a local news channel here on long island. She and her daughter won Angel of the Year award back in September that was hosted by another 501c3 organization called Equity First.

You could be a Blessing to them. Visit there website www.angelsoflongisland.com

Thank you inadvance,

Grammie Lynn
