She was one of seven arrested at a sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue over Friday night into Saturday morning, Suffolk police said.

PATCHOGUE, NY — A Bellport woman was found driving drunk with an 11-month-old child in her car during a sobriety checkpoint over Friday night into Saturday morning in Patchogue, Suffolk police said.

State police charged Gloria Torres Lema, 28, with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger 15 years old or younger, a felony, and she was given an appearance ticket to be arraigned at a future date, according to police. The charge was brought under Leandra's Law, which is named for 11-year-old Leandra Rosado who was killed in a drunk driving crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway in 2009.

Lema was one of seven people arrested in a joint operation with the 5th Precinct and State police, according to Suffolk police.
