Black History Month Celebrations Planned In Brookhaven Over Weekend
"The Power of Love" will feature artists, performances, music, and cuisine at Artspace in Patchogue. Gordon Heights will host a wax museum.
BROOKHAVEN, NY — Several local Brookhaven organizations are planning events recognizing Black History month this weekend.
- The Of Colors Creative Collective will host a black history exhibition and diversity celebration at Artspace in Patchogue on Saturday.
The free event, dubbed "The Power of Love," will feature art, and entertainment, including music and performers, as well as esteemed honorees.
It will kick off at 6 p.m.

- The Greater Gordon Heights Chamber of Commerce will host a black history month wax museum Saturday at the Mott House in Coram from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The event will feature the community's children performing biographical stories of figures from black history. There will be light concessions. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted.

- Throughout February, the Patchogue-Medford Library will host "A Song For Miles: Black History Month Story Walk" all 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the main library. No registration is required.
