Brookhaven Adoptable Pet Of The Week: Keiko
Looking to adopt a new furry friend? Here's Keiko, this week's featured pet available at the Brookhaven Animal Shelter.

BROOKHAVEN, NY - If you're looking for a new companion, consider starting your search at a local animal shelter like the Brookhaven Animal Shelter. One of their available pets is Keiko, a 10-year-old male husky who had two different types of cancer.
Here's a full description of Keiko from the Brookhaven Animal Shelter page:
Adopting and loving a dog is one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences someone can be blessed with. However for a dog like Keiko the experience is life saving. He has no idea that he is sick and through no fault of his own he was surrendered to us so we could give him the necessary medical care that his family could not. Keiko not only had cancer but two different types. His surgery was a success with good clean margins but of course there is a risk that it could reoccur. He has all the hope in the world that he will find a new and loving home with an amazing family who will be on top of his medical care which right now consists of keeping your eyes open and making sure any lumps and bumps are brought to his doctor’s attention. He is a very happy, energetic and outgoing guy who doesn’t deserve to spend his days and nights as a senior in a shelter. Keiko has tons of life and love to share, could you be his hero? He is 10 years young, he weights in at 52 pounds, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, micro-chipped and heartworm negative.
