Burglar Fires Shot While Being Chased Out Of Long Island Home
BREAKING: Two people broke into an occupied home early Friday, police say.

MASTIC BEACH, NY – Police are investigating a burglary that occurred early Friday at an occupied Long Island home.
Two burglars entered a home on Alder Drive in Mastic Beach at 2:05 a.m. The male and female occupants of the house woke up when they heard noise and the man was able to chase the burglars away, Suffolk Police said.
As the burglars fled, one of them fired a shot down the hallway. The burglars then left empty-handed, fleeing on foot in an unknown direction.

There were no injuries. The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
