Celebrating 100 Years of National Parks with Captin Austin Roe Society of The Children of the American Revolution

National Parks, News12, Fire Island Lighthouse, DAR, Children of the American Revolution

The Children of the American Revolution Captin Austin Roe Chapter celebrated 100 Years of National Parks Service by visiting the Fire Island Lighthouse. There they met News12 weatherman Norm Dvoskin, climbed the tower, observed the Fresnel Prism Lens, thanked Veterans, and enjoyed the lovely flowers along the boardwalk!

The ladies from the Colonel Josiah Smith Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution restored the charter of the Captian Austin Roe Chapter in 2014 and since then they have been educating young children about patriotism, service, and our American heritage.
