Clerk Robbed At Speedway In Yaphank: Police

The clerk was approached early Wednesday by a man waving "what appeared to be a gun," and he made off with some cash, police said.

YAPHANK, NY — A convenience clerk at Speedway in Yaphank was robbed early Wednesday morning, Suffolk police said.

A man approached the clerk inside of Speedway on Horseblock Road and waved "what appeared to be a gun" before demanding some cash, according to police. The clerk gave over the cash and then the man ran away at about 2:30 a.m., police said.

The clerk was not injured during the robbery, according to police.
