DAR Col. Josiah Smith elves collect for Toys for Kids

Daughters of the American Revolution Col. Josiah Smith Chapter of Patchogue collect toys for the Town of Brookhaven Toys for Kids

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Patchogue Chapter Col. Josiah Smith ladies held their annual Christmas Brunch at the Longwood Estate in Ridge on December 8th. Thrivent Financial Hands and Heart sponsored the event. We had a special visitor! Santa! And, he is a Sargent in the Army National Guard, a Veteran of the Army, Sgt. Brian Barry. He loved all the elves who brought toys for the Toys for Kids program run by the Town of Brookhaven. We love our children and families and hope that every child has a smile for Christmas. The chapter officers are in the photo with Santa.

The DAR reaches out to our community and country. We support Veterans and active service members. We are a group of women who are descended from Revolutionary War Patriots. The Patriot could have been an officer, soldier, supplier of materials, medical support person, or person who supported the cause that led to the formation of America. Do you think you may be a descendant? Contact Joan Nathan at darsamuelprice@gmail.com We would love to have you in our midst.
