Driver Wanted By Suffolk Police In Bicyclist Hit-And-Run
A 76-year-old bicyclist was critically injured in Blue Point after Suffolk police said the driver of an SUV crashed into him.
BLUE POINT, NY — Suffolk police said they are looking for a driver involved in a hit-and-run crash with a bicyclist in Blue Point earlier this month.
On April 6, a 76-year-old Blue Point man was riding a bicycle north on Blue Point Avenue just before noon when he was struck by the driver of a black sport utility vehicle, police said.
The driver was making a left turn from Blue Point Avenue onto Middle Road, police said. The driver then fled the scene eastbound on Middle Road. The bicyclist was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition.
