Emanuel Lutheran School Rings in their 60th Year!

On September 6, 2017, Emanuel Lutheran School rang in their 60th year of faithfully serving families of our community. The school day began with a chapel service and the middle school students ringing the church bell 10 times. Every hour for the rest of the day each grade rang the bell for a total of 60 times, one bell ring for every year that Emanuel has been making a difference in the lives of children. Emanuel has many traditions.

Emanuel will celebrate the school’s 60th Anniversary Gala on March 23 at Villa Lombardi in Holbrook. All are welcome to attend, but the hope is to attract current students, family and alumni. If you are an alumni or former student please reconnect with the school. In addition to their “60 sensational years” gala, the school will also participate in monthly celebrations such as a party on the 60th school day of the 60th year, which should fall sometime around Dec. 5. This sum­mer the building also saw a sprucing; the halls were painted school colors yellow and blue, and a new sign will soon replace the old.

In 1957, Emanuel opened to 17 students in kindergarten and first grade. Each year the school continued to grow and by 1968 the nursery school was added and in 1969 Emanuel added the seventh and eighth grades. By 1997, a full-day preschool program was added. Emanuel continues to grow. The school welcomed many new students this year. After the first day of school, one of our new 4th grade students said "I had the best day ever!" and our new 8th grade student said "I just love this school!"
