The Emporium Shuts Down; New Owner Taking Over Property

BREAKING: The Patchogue nightspot closed with no apparent notice Friday. The property will be developed by a new owner.

PATCHOGUE, NY – The Emporium, the Patchogue nightspot that drew crowds into the village with its array of entertainment options but was also the scene of high-profile criminal incidents, is out of business and in the hands of a new owner.

The Emporium's website went dark Friday morning besides a note reading "The Emporium Is Officially Closed. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding."

That same message was posted on the Railroad Avenue venue's Facebook page, but that page was soon deleted. Several commenters had complained that they were owed money or ticket refunds from The Emporium, which opened in 2012.

In March, The Emporium's co-owner Vincent Trimarco told GreaterPatchogue that plans to divide the property into a "grand steakhouse" and smaller music venue were still underway.

But Patch has confirmed that The Emporium has been sold to Jackson Hall American Bar & Grille. The owners of Jackson Hall, who operate a thriving restaurant in East Islip, could not immediately be reached for comment.
