Firefighters Called To Brush Fire In Woods Off Of Sunrise Hwy
The fire broke out between exits 55 and 56 at about 11:30 a.m., Suffolk police said.
NORTH BELLPORT, NY — Area firefighters were called to a brush fire that broke out in a wooded area on Sunrise Highway in North Bellport on Saturday morning.
The fire, located between westbound Sunrise Highway and the service road between exits 55 and 56, broke out at about 11:30 a.m., Suffolk police said. It drew first responders from Hagerman Fire Department, as well as New York State forest rangers, and police, slowing down traffic before being knocked down.
