Free Virtual Boating Seminar Offered To The Boating Public

"Introduction to Navigation" will be offered this December, free of charge.

AMERICAS BOATING CLUB of the GREAT SOUTH BAY POWER SQUADRON is proud to offer the public the virtual boating seminar – “Introduction to Navigation Seminar,” on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.

Learn practical techniques to plan, navigate, and check your progress on the water using nautical charts, GPS and Chartplotters.

This seminar will introduce you to principles and techniques to determine safe routes, creating waypoints in your Chartplotter and other GPS devices, and basic electronic navigation! This seminar gives you modern skills and is a great foundation to learn more about piloting and celestial navigation.

There is no charge for this “Introduction to Navigation Seminar,” but pre-registration is required at: Boatgsb.org/Intro, under the “Education” section. Space is limited to 25 students so please sign up as soon as possible to ensure admission to the seminar as it’s first come, first served basis. The “Introduction to Navigation Seminar” virtual seminars is being offered to the public by America’s Boating Club and the United States Power Squadron of the Great South Bay Power Squadron, a non-profit organization of boating enthusiasts who have a common interest and appreciation of recreational boating, boating safety, and education.
