GoFundMe Will Continue Helping Gabby Petitoโs Family: Organizer

BLUE POINT, NY โ The GoFundMe page dedicated to raising money for Gabby Petitoโs family will continue to cover general expenses incurred by the search and effort to bring her home, and the remaining funds will be donated to a charity, according to the page organizer, Gary Rider.
The roughly $82,000 in funds raised will cover general expenses such as transportation, legal fees, and care of the family โthrough this difficult period,โ Rider wrote in an update on Monday.
โThe worst fears of any parent have been realized with the recovery of Gabby,โ he wrote. โWe are devastated and heartbroken.โ

โOn behalf of the entire family, we send a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and donated to help in our search for Gabby,โ he wrote, adding, โWe still do not have the words that seem appropriate to truly express how grateful we are and how uplifting this support has been during this challenging time.โ

Petito was confirmed Tuesday to be the person who was found dead at Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming. The search for her fiancรฉ, Brian Laundrie, who is a person of interest, continued with nothing found on Thursday.
Last week, Petitoโs family warned of fake GoFundMe pages, and notified followers on Facebook that they should only donate to the page organized by Rider, meaww.com reported. They requested anyone with tips to call their family attorney, Rick Stafford at 631-589-7999.
