EAST PATCHOGUE, NY — An East Patchogue resident started a fundraiser to help her family who lost their home in a house fire last week.

According to Amanda DeMasi, on Feb. 6 her brother, his girlfriend, their two daughters, grandparents, and uncle, lost their home to a house fire. There were no injuries in the devastating blaze, however, the house was seriously damaged. The fire left the second floor of the home in ruins.

"We are so lucky and blessed to say everyone got out safe and unharmed," she wrote. "And even more blessed that my nieces didn't lose many personal items that were located on the first story of the home."
