O'Keefe takes photographs of cultural subjects including Native American dancers, tropical scenes and European views of a historical nature. O'Keefe also focuses her attention on blues, rock, gospel and reggae performers.

O'Keefe is particularly intrigued by water and the way it flows and its reflections. She is also interested in light and shadows and how they can be dramatic in a photograph.
