LI Food Pantry Expects Surge Of Food Insecurity Around The Holidays

BELLPORT, NY — In expectation of a surge of people looking for help during the holidays this year, the Lighthouse Mission's volunteers have put a call out for food donations.
The mission, which is located on Montauk Highway in Bellport, is asking that Thanksgiving food donations be delivered by Nov. 11.
“Thanksgiving is around the corner, and we expect a surge of people looking for help during the holidays this year,” the mission stated in a news release. “We need your help to bring Thanksgiving dinner to our struggling neighbors.”

Free food distributions are located in Shirley, Middle Island, Ronkonkoma, Central Islip, Rocky Point, Port Jefferson Station, Riverhead, Centereach, and Patchogue.
