LI Man Had 150 THC Vape Carts, 2 Pound Of Weed In Car: SD

The 26-year-old was caught with the vape cartridges and marijuana in his car during a traffic stop, the sheriff's department said.

BROOKHAVEN, NY — A Patchogue man was arrested after he was caught with 150 flavored vape cartridges with THC and more than 2 pounds of marijuana in his car in Brookhaven last week, according to the Suffolk County Sheriff's Department. On Friday at 12:43 p.m, deputies pulled over 26-year-old Sean Bell, who was driving a 2007 BMW, after noticing he was driving on the center median on Sunrise Highway near Exitx 57/58 partially blocking the left lane, the sheriff's department said.

During the traffic stop, the deputies discovered the cartridges and marijuana in five vacuum sealed bags in the trunk of the car, according to the sheriff's department.

Further investigation revealed that Bell was in violation of driving the car without an interlock device and his license had been suspended six times, the sheriff's department said.

Bell was arrested and charged with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree possession of marijuana, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, and driving with an interlock device.

He was transported to the sheriff's headquarters for processing.

In 2014, Bell was arrested along with another Patchogue man in connection to a robbery in Patchogue, according to a previous Patch article. In addition, in 2011 he was arrested in Patchogue and charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the fifth degree, according to a Patch report.
