LI Woman Drove With 40 License Suspensions: Police
The Moriches woman was arrested in Patchogue Wednesday, police say.
PATCHOGUE, NY — A Moriches woman was arrested after she was caught driving in Patchogue with 40 license suspensions, police said.
According to Suffolk County Police, the woman, 38, was arrested on Wednesday at 5:10 p.m. on the westbound portion of Sunrise Highway at Phyllis Drive.
She was driving a 2012 Kia Optima; an officer observed a fraudulent Georgia license plate and dark tinted windows and initiated a traffic stop, police said. A check of the woman's license revealed 40 license suspensions on eight different dates, police said.

She was arrested and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and several traffic summonses, police said.
She was released on a desk appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip on a later date; the Kia Optima was impounded, police said.
