Lighthouse Mission Needs Turkeys for Our Neighbors in Need

Thanksgiving is just 10 days away, and Lighthouse Mission is 800 Turkeys short of its goal to bless Long Islanders in need.

Imagine for a moment - you and your family have just sat down at your table to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. But then, looking at what you have prepared, you realize that there isn’t enough food to eat.

Prayerfully this is not the case for you. Sadly though, thousands here on Long Island, after struggling to pay their bills (electricity, medical, and other basic necessities), won’t have enough money left over to provide their families with a simple Thanksgiving meal, let alone a daily family meal.

Lighthouse Mission helps families like this by providing food not only for Thanksgiving, but also year round at our daily food outreaches (check out www.LIoutreaches.com for a list of all of our food outreaches). Each week, hundreds of Long Islanders in need line up at their local Lighthouse Mission Outreach to get food for their families.

Thanksgiving is an important time of year for many of us, and Lighthouse Mission would love to provide each family in need with a frozen turkey to celebrate the holiday. Unfortunately, we are currently 800 Turkeys short of our goal!

Want to help us reach our goal and help our neighbors in need this Thanksgiving? Why not consider picking up an extra Turkey this week and bringing it down to Lighthouse Mission?
