Man Arrested After 30-Mile Police Chase Across Long Island
See what police say they found in his car. He faces more than a dozen charges.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on robbery, drugs and weapons charges following a 30-mile police chase across Long Island Wednesday evening, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Fifth Precinct Gang Unit officers observed Lawrence Jenkins, who was wanted in connection with a robbery in Patchogue on March 10, driving a 2002 Ford Explorer north on Waverly Avenue, approaching Sunrise Highway, in Patchogue around 6:40 p.m.
Officers attempted to pull over the vehicle, but Jenkins fled, police said. Officers pursued Jenkins until he pulled over on the westbound Southern State Parkway in Wantagh.

Jenkins, of Patchogue, was charged with first degree attempted robbery for his role in the March robbery, police said.
Jenkins was also charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon for possessing a loaded 9mm handgun, third degree criminal possession of a weapon for possession of a weapon with a previous conviction of a drug charge, resisting arrest, reckless driving, second degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and third degree unlawful fleeing a police officer, police said.

Jenkins was also charged with two counts of third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for fentanyl and cocaine, fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for cocaine, seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for fentanyl, tampering with physical evidence for throwing drugs out of the window of the vehicle while fleeing police, unlawful possession of marijuana and second degree criminal use drug paraphernalia-scales.
